Gastronomy..WHAT?!


U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has added Gastronomy as one of the forty-six new elements added to Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. What is Gastronomy? The gastronomic meal emphasizes togetherness, the pleasure of taste, and the balance between human beings and the products of nature. It is everything that comes into play to create real french experience, a gastronomic meal. It is the act of taking products to be used for dishes, ensuring they complement one another, the inclusion of wine with your meal and of course good company. France is known for a meal and an experience. What does that mean? There is an experience to be had, with a relative, with a friend or a loved one when in france, and it had over french cuisine amongst the beautiful cultural environment of France. The french meal as a citation said, is “a customary social practice designed to celebrate the most important moments in the lives of individuals and groups.” It is beyond a simple experience. there is some a spiritual experience when combining France, french cuisine, and people…you get a recipe you remember for life.
